Now that I'm getting older, I have noticed just how faithful God has been to me throughout the years.

The other day I was walking and talking with the Lord, reflecting back on my life and on the many provisions He has given for me. He has taken wonderful care of me and for that I'm so thankful.

In that moment, it was as if Jesus was right next to me. Bumping my arm He said  "....see, I told you I would take care of you."  I found myself smiling at the thought, and thanked Him again as I continued walking.

Then it struck me... why do I fret?

There is a quote that says "Happiness is enjoying what you have, instead of fretting over what you don't have."

It is so easy for us to get in the habit of focusing on worst case scenarios and the "what ifs" in life. Many times the anxiety we have, is developed from things that will never happen. But even still, we seem to be inclined to worry over things God already has handled for us.

Matthew 6:26 says, "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"

Let that serve as a good reminder.

Whatever you are facing today if you are tempted to fret, remember the Lord is already there, ready to walk with you tomorrow.

Blessings,
Pastor Dale
